Definition of the National Statistical System -SEN-
It is the organic complex of all government agencies, autonomous and semi-autonomous decentralized entities and municipalities that have among their functions any activity related to the development, collection, analysis and publication of statistical information.

The SEN provides guidance through guidelines and regulations
- Assistance to the OCSES in the preparation of statistical documents such as: compendiums, documents on specific topics.
- The National Statistical System provides guidelines for the production of sectoral and national statistics.
- The SEN guides, through the preparation of technical and methodological notes, the continuous improvement of the statistics generated by each of the public institutions.
- Disseminates the fundamental principles of official statistics.
- Promotes compliance with the Regional Code of Good Statistical Practices for Latin America and the Caribbean.
- Promotes the holding of national or sectoral statistical meetings, with the objective of harmonizing procedures and adopting quality standards.
